Magnolia
Texas

On Sunday the 10th of February 25 Houston Section members and guests traveled to Magnolia, Texas to view the expansive personal automobile collection of Tony Gullo at the Tony Gullo Automobile Museum. Mr. Gullo heads the Gullo Auto Group which includes several automobile dealerships in and around Houston Texas. His interest in cars goes beyond his professional life. He has a personal collection of over 250 cars on display in a series of connected buildings in Magnolia.

Our trip started in Houston at the Starbucks in Vintage Park at Louetta. After coffee and snacks, we traveled northwest to the Magnolia Diner for lunch where we met several other Houston Section members. After lunch, we continued our caravan to the Tony Gullo Automobile Museum.
Mr.Gullo met us outside and welcomed us to his personal automobile collection. He gave a brief overview of the collection providing some details of how some of the cars were obtained. Some of the cars were once owned by celebrities. These celebrity cars include the original titles with the celebrities name and address at the time of purchase.

Admission to the Tony Gullo Automobile Museum was a $10 voluntary donation to the Gullo Christmas for Kids Charity. $420 was collected and donated to the charity. Gullo’s Christmas for Kids helps 50-55 needy families during the Christmas holiday season by throwing a Christmas party for needy kids with a chance for them to meet Santa Claus. Each family of the kids is given a Christmas ham, a gift card, a Christmas tree, and decorations. Additionally, Christmas for Kids includes the Earning by Learning Program reading incentive program for 3rd graders at 5 Conroe ISD schools, and the Montgomery County Senior Scholarship Program, which awards 25-30 scholarships per year to seniors at 12 participating Montgomery County Schools at $2,500 per scholarship.
Even after a couple of hours of viewing the fine details of the car collection we were not able to see all the cars on display. Several members and guests vowed to return next year to complete the tour and to see what will have been added to the collection. Here are a few anonymous quotes from members and guest after the tour;

  • Each time that I have visited Mr. Gullo and his extraordinary Antique Car Museum,  I am overwhelmed by his kindness, his philanthropic endeavors, his work ethic, and his incredible knowledge of cars!
  • Great event, felt exclusive. Host was very humble.
  • Incredible personal collection of classic and modern machines.
  • I was so surprised to see so many fine automobiles in one location. Great tour and would like to see us return next year.

The Houston Section thanks Tony Gullo for allowing our club to return for the 4th consecutive year. This has been one of our most popular events.

For those that did not make the trip, you missed a truly unique experience to view such a broad range of restored and original automobiles. Sorry, we can’t publish any pictures of the cars on display per Mr. Gullo’s request. However, with Mr. Gullo’s approval, we plan to return next year and you can see the collection yourself.
